This funding is a university initiative to help and encourage UMT academic staff/researchers to produce quality journal articles. The results of the publication of journal articles also help in research achievements through the evaluation of Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) and QS University Ranking.
Therefore, UMT has allocated a specific amount of funding to cover publication fees in order to support researchers, thereby increasing their motivation and the number of article publications in journals indexed in Scopus and WoS.
